The Bingoladies and the dead man:
This is in a series of three artworks: It was not the first thing I thougt; that it was so beautiful and wonderful with these ladies and the dying man in his metal-hospital-bed. The motive is from an island one hour outside Venice in a private home.
The first thing I remember was the feeling that had a total happiness and luck. One of my first word to put on it was that it was like looking straight down in to an open box of Del Monte Fruitcocktail. The painting was filled with impressions like my artwork Maximalism.
No my first thougth was that the motive was perfect. The presence of all the individualls. I felt the their next movement in each one of them. The correspondence between the bodies and their acting. Because there is no correspondence between these individuals eyes.
One of my best friends looked at it and said: -They have put pillows in the sides of the metal-frame-bed because he is shaking so much. I agreed. And I thougt, probably because of this mans agony to die. And we had a very good long laugh about it. The absurd, cold way of treating him.
The clock behind the man. Is that for the last time in his life? The low door behind him, is that his last step into to his death?
Does he even want to spend his last time together with these ladies in this room or is it his worst nightmare?
Is that the worst thing that he can go through? Not be able to be alone with his thought’s in peace.
Was he a tyrant before. Is he still running it from his bed or were these ladies tyrants. Is this his ex-wifes playing bingo about who is going to take care of him.
On the other hand the wiew could be a symbol of the absolute beauty.
That we take care of each other in our home with love.
